Just to piss all the lefties off I reckon we need a 'King of Auckland' a person who is 'The People's choice'.

Someone we can actually look up to. Someone wise.

What do others think of this idea?

This was originally a joke. Now its true! 'The' mayor will have huge power. I'd say he'd be as much in the media as the PM in time to come. I'm pretty interested at the end of the day who it will be.

I hope he/she is someone who does a good job and is liked by all cultures.

Meh, Having a "King of Auckland", as you put it, is just going to piss more people off then help cause' people don't like having powerful people running a place. However, it could help co-ordinate Auckland services more efficently.

"Someone we can actually look up to. Someone wise."

Nah, its just going to be John Banks

God I hope not. That guy, well, gives me the creeps! Ever read the book on John Banks life. He certainly isn't a bad man and has lots to offer, but well he is just a little strange. Seems to be much calmer as he gets older. When he was young - what a prick!
